Update: this will be a long one!

This will be an update...not of our whole lives, but of the last year plus some high school stories...

This is a picture of west high Sr. Ball May 2005...our last dance together! We match perfectly right..? I get kind of OCD on matching colors. Dan and I loved going to dances together and could put many pictures up here of all of the matching outfits I insisted Dan wear.

I do have to tell you about the first dance when I was FINALLY 16 Dan asked me to West High Homecoming Dance. I was freaking out when Dan knocked on the door and I was half ready, so Dan took a seat in the living room across from my dad...Bad Idea. Haha I came out of the bathroom and saw my dad just looking at Dan, not talking just looking. I felt so bad...When you hear those stories about crazy dads who try to scare guys out of asking their daughters out, you heard about my dad! We went to Macaroni Grill and I was in a group of all older kids and felt so embarrassed for some reason, I get really shy when I'm uncomfortable and really quiet, so the whole time at dinner I wasn't saying much. Then just when I think I'll survive the dinner I hear someone tap their glass and say "I have an announcement..." (look to the right of me...Dan started standing up..) My jaw dropped and my palms were sweating...no joke it was kind of gross. then he continued with his so called announcement, "I just want to say how beautiful my date looks tonight!!!" as he sat back down he whispered in my ear, "I was going to say you were the most beautiful girl but then I felt bad for the other girls at the table." I fell in love with the boy at that moment, at the time I thought I hated him!

We went through the best and worst o
f times together, When Dan got back from his mission we got to go to Lake Powell on my family trip which was so fun. He made everyone laugh from day one. He even found some glasses on the beach buried in the sand and wore them the rest of the trip! Something I didn't miss was him throwing me in the freezing cold water, even with all of my threats. It was the first time that Dan and Simeon went to Lake Powell which was so fun but at the same time terrible because I was always the victim because there is no way Sim will mess with Michelle and Dan thinks it hilarious to make me mad. The family trips always consist of sleeping in and eating lots of food and gaining a beautiful tan, which I miss terribly right now and am only weeks away from returning back!!

After I returned from Powell Dan proposed and totally tricked me. I had no clue it was happening. I was going to work with my sister and she told me that there was a independent film that was so good playing and today was only 1$ to see it. I knew I needed to make money so I told her no and she finally offered Hires and I was sold, but not happy about it. We drove from west valley to downtown SL and walked up to tower theaters on 900 S the movie was love songs. We go sit down in a dark theater and no one else is in there, I was totally freaked out! Michelle tells me she needed to go to the bathroom and leaves me...the previews begin and I hear the door open... turning around expecting Michelle I can see its a man, too dark to see who but start to panic thinking its some kind of pervert going to the movies to pick up chicks! Then as he get closer I see its Dan and start crying, he has flowers and popcorn. He sits next to me and a slide show of us comes on, it ends and he gets down on one knee and tells me I make him better and how much he loves me! He put the ring on my finger and I said yes!!! Biggest and best surprise EVER!

We had a great summer and I was lucky enough to go to Vegas for one last girls trip! I went with my mom, sister and Best friend Emalee!! It was such a fun trip where we relaxed more than we could imagine. Swimming and shopping, eating and sleeping and we got to see a Beatles show! it was so fun we had a whole week of girls a few weeks before My big day.













We also got to go to the bees game with Dan's family and it was so fun!! Dan's family is really big so when it comes summer time we get to see some family that we haven't for months. It was funny to watch the twins eating who knows what off the cement ground below our feet! haha they have so much energy.

One of my best friends Nicole got married one week before Dan and I so we got the chance to got to their temple marriage and it was so special to see a marriage for eternity, it really helped me to see it before I went through the same thing. I don't know how to describe the feeling I get when I even see a couple come out of the temple doors as husband and wife, but it is such a pure and hopeful feeling that I haven't found many other places. Two people in love is so easy to see, and Nicole and Josh are so in love and I have never seen that girl smile so much, want to be better and Josh loves her so much it makes me smile every time I think of those two together.
